CE Certification for PPE

How to get a CE Mark for your PPE Products

Are you ready to enter the market with your Personal Protective Equipment? Personal protective equipment without the CE-marking may not be sold in the EU. With the CE-mark you will declare that the equipment is in accordance with all legal requirements of the EU market, specifically the European Directive 89/686/EEA. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must comply with the new Regulation (EU) 2016/425. The Regulation encompasses product safety requirements to protect the health and safety of users.

Every product that is designed to be worn or held for protection against risks must meet the requirements specified in the directive. It makes no difference whether the product protects against one or more than one risk, or whether these risks are health or safety risks. The regulations also apply to each system that consists of personal protective equipment used in conjunction with another external product. Therefore, when selling PPE within the market of the EU, you are bound to comply with the requirements of the regulation.
