What exactly are Directives?

Compliance Expert Soufyan Lamdini explains

European Product Directives are drawn up on the initiative of the European Commission. They are subsequently drawn up by the European Parliament, in cooperation with the Board of Ministers of the European Union. These Directives are implemented in the national legislation by national governments within the Member States.

Minimum requirements are made in the production Directives for products that are brought on the market within the EEA. These requirements safeguard the environment, the health and safety of the users and consumers.
