CE Marking

The CE Marking is a mark that should be affixed to products that fall under the essential requirements of the European New Approach Directives. ‘CE’ stands for ‘Conformité Européenne’. With the CE Marking logo, the manufacturer or importer (also for products imported from outside the European Union) indicates that the product meets the legal requirements described in the applicable European Directive. All products bearing the CE-marking and that are in compliance have free access to the entire market within the European Economic Area (EEA). Products covered by the European New Approach Directives and which not in compliance with the applicable directives and have no CE-marking, can not be traded within the EEA.

UKCA Marking

The UKCA marking serves as a certification symbol, attesting that your product adheres to the requisite legal standards governing the safety of the production process. This certification is imperative for gaining entry into the UK product market. If you intend to distribute your product in England, Wales, and Scotland, it is compulsory for your product to prominently display the UKCA mark.

UL and CSA

UL (Underwriters Laboratory) operates as an independent, non-profit, private organization. For certification to be determined, samples must be provided by the manufacturer to be evaluated for testing and certification. If UL determines that the product meets the applicable requirements, it authorizes the manufacturer to place UL certification mark on the production of the evaluated samples , or to compile or deliver a compliance certificate or further a notification that the product is certified by UL. An evaluation report is provided for the manufacturer. Before the manufacturer places UL certified products on the market, UL proposes Follow-up services in which periodic audits by UL representatives (UL Field representations) and are carried out on site. These controls are in the UL Follow-up Service procedure, which is part of the full product evaluation process. Some products are selected on-site for sampling and for revaluation. UL certification is valid until the manufacturer itself calls for termination or until such time that the manufacturer did not meet or pass the requirements. UL certified products which are also modified by the manufacturer, must be re -valuated, before UL marking can be considered for the modified products.

The CSA (Canadian Standards Association) is a non-profit, member based firm. They serve companies, the industry, the government and the consumers in Canada and in the world market. As a solution based organization, CSA works in Canada and across the globe to design standards that are focused on all needs, like enhancing the public safety and health, better quality of life and environment. The experts of Certification Experts can investigate new- as well as recently CSA-marked products on conformity with the relative CSA Regulations and/or standards. Our product investigations are trained to firstly look at the essential product requirements, and only when the requirements have been fulfilled, the complete investigation will be completed. If during the test we must determine that a product does not meet all applicable requirements, we will propose technical solutions.

CCC

CCC (China Compulsory Certification) is a legal safety and quality mark for products that are being sold on the Chinese market. The CCC mark, which is being used since the 1st of May 2002, is a compulsory legal safety and quality mark for electrical, electronic and many other products that are being sold in China and consolidates the existence of CCIB and CCEE in one conformity assessment. In addition to the safety-tests, the testing of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) is compulsory!

The CCC mark serves as proof that a product can be traded on the Chinese market, imported into China can be used in China. When the CCC mark is being used, the certificate-holder must accept the “Regulations for the Compulsory Product Certification Mark”.

CB Scheme

CB stands for Certification Body, and a CB certificate is regarded as equivalent to the CE mark utilized in the European Union. The CB certificate is granted by IECEE, providing certification for electrical and electronic equipment, devices, and components.

Under the CB Scheme, CB certification signifies that your product is certified for various international markets, eliminating the necessity for duplicate certifications. It’s worth noting that while CB certification is not legally obligatory, its requirement may arise if mandated by the government or specified by industry or trade associations. Utilizing CB certification can streamline the international market access process for your product while also reflecting a commitment to meeting global standards in electrical and electronic equipment certification.
