How many standards are there?
There are thousands of European Standards (ENs), all of which can be found on the website of the European Committee for Standardisation. Here you can search for thousands of documents, including extensive search functions (for each field, function or subject) to find the right standard. These standards are developed by various European standards organizations and are used to define the technical requirements and specifications that products must meet to achieve CE marking.
These standards are subject to updates and revisions, and new standards may be introduced over time. To determine the specific standards that apply to a particular product, manufacturers or their Authorised Representative should consult the relevant EU directives or regulations associated with that product category. Additionally, they should refer to the official list of harmonised standards published by the European Commission or the relevant national standards organizations.
It’s important for manufacturers to stay up-to-date with the latest standards and regulatory changes to ensure that their products remain compliant with CE marking requirements.
